How to cancel your transaction when it is pending too long? BovineVerse shows you how to cancel it in an easy way
This tutorial is provided to all players who have joined or will join the public beta of Interstellar Rangeland
The simplest way to cancel a transaction is to directly cancel it instead of speeding up the transaction. However, you can only cancel it when the transaction is still pending for the pack because it is irrevocable once it gets confirmed by the blockchain. How to cancel it in an easy way? Use Custom Nonce!
You may find the transaction is still pending when you click “Cancel”. Here we will teach you how to cancel it by custom nonce in baby steps. This tutorial is applicable to every EVM chain, not just Polygon.
- Click “Setting” in your wallet account
2. Click “Advanced” in setting
3. Turn Advanced gas controls on
4. Turn Customize transaction nonce on
5. Click View on block explorer to view 2 important information of the pending transaction in blockchain explorer
6. Now you can view the detailed information of this transaction, click to see more, and pay attention to the following:
a. Nonce of the transaction (the nonce is 6 in this transaction)
b. Max fee per gas and Max priority fee per gas of the transaction (31.354086871 and 31.354086853 respectively in this transaction)
7. At this moment you need to create a new transaction. Send 0 MATIC to your own wallet for example, click Next
8. Before confirming, click Edit in the top right corner to adjust the gas fee. It’s recommended to enter a max priority fee and max fee that are higher than the fees of your pending transaction (by reference to the data you get from step 6). Save the setting.
9. You need to enter the nonce value of the pending transaction (the value is 6 in this case, which is found in step 6). Click Confirm and continue the transaction
Once done, wait a few moments. You will find that the previous pending transaction will be canceled. After that, you can make the transaction again
